Make what already exists easier to find

San Cristóbal is full of things worth discovering, but much of what happens here is scattered between streets, conversations, groups, social networks and word of mouth.

Often, something already exists and someone is already looking for it. They simply do not know about each other yet.

SanCrisGo exists to make more of San Cristóbal visible to the people who are looking for it.

People should be able to put their energy into what they actually care about, rather than constantly having to compete for attention just to be found.

Technology, search and structured information are tools for making that easier.

And if SanCrisGo grows from the value that already exists here, part of its purpose should be to return value to the place it comes from.

Why San Cristóbal matters to me

I came to San Cristóbal in 2023, originally planning to stay for one month.

Instead, I fell in love and stayed.

What affected me most was the way many people here choose to live.

I met people building their lives around what they genuinely wanted to do, not simply around what was most profitable.

Seeing that changed the way I thought about my own life. It showed me that there are many different ways to live, and that meaning can be a reason to do something even when it is not the easiest or most profitable choice.

SanCrisGo grew partly from that experience.

This place already had something that I was lucky enough to find.

SanCrisGo is one small way of saying thank you.

Reciprocity

I grew up with a simple idea:

If a place gives you something important, try to give something back.

For me, this is not a debt or an obligation. It is a way of understanding balance and the relationship between people, the land and the places where we live.

This way of thinking is connected in part to my Sakha background.

What we return can take many forms: time, knowledge, work, attention, care, opportunity, support or simply doing something useful for the place and the people around us.

The idea is simple:

If somewhere becomes important to you, treat that relationship as something worth giving to as well.

This is not only a personal reason for building SanCrisGo. It is also an idea I would like the project to carry forward.

People who come to San Cristóbal from somewhere else do not remain outside observers.

By living here, renting, spending, working, opening businesses and creating demand, we become part of the forces that change the city.

San Cristóbal is a beautiful place, but it is also a place where inequality, limited opportunities and very different economic realities can exist next to each other.

People arriving with more money, mobility or opportunities become part of that reality too.

That does not mean reducing everything to guilt or deciding that someone is good or bad simply because they came from somewhere else.

It means recognizing that living in a place is also a relationship with it.

Small actions matter

One of the things that stayed with me from living here is seeing how often people choose to do something about what matters to them.

Sometimes it is a project. Sometimes it is a class, a space, an idea, an act of support or simply helping another person.

These actions may look small from the outside, but their consequences do not always stay small.

A conversation can change someone's direction.

An introduction can begin a relationship or a project.

An opportunity can change what becomes possible for another person.

Most of those effects will never appear in statistics and may never be traced back to where they started.

They still matter.

That is a way of thinking I want SanCrisGo to carry with it:

You do not have to wait for someone else to make something better around you.

Useful before impressive

SanCrisGo should build things because they have a real purpose, not because they make the project appear bigger or more advanced.

Usefulness comes first.

The city does not belong to the platform

The people, places, knowledge, culture and ideas of San Cristóbal exist independently of SanCrisGo.

The platform should respect that and never confuse showing something with owning it, creating it or speaking on its behalf.

Organic visibility is not for sale

A person, Place or Event should not need to pay simply to be discoverable.

Payment should not decide organic ranking, verification or editorial trust.

Commercial work and advertising can exist, but they should be recognizable for what they are.

Advertising can be paid for. Trust cannot.

Independence matters

Facts, advertising and editorial choices should remain distinguishable from one another.

Something can receive additional attention because SanCrisGo considers it useful, relevant or worth discovering.

That judgment should not be for sale.

Publishing an Event or presenting information about an organization also does not mean endorsing its ideas.

Give something back

If SanCrisGo benefits from the people, knowledge and life of San Cristóbal, it should also contribute something in return.

How that happens may change as the project grows.
