Why San Cristóbal feels different from the rest of Chiapas

San Cristóbal is in Los Altos de Chiapas, at high elevation. That means its weather is much cooler than lowland destinations such as Chiapa de Corzo, Sumidero Canyon or Palenque.

You can leave a cool morning in San Cristóbal and reach hot, humid weather on a day trip a few hours later.
