Semana Santa

Holy Week is one of San Cristóbal's major visitor periods. Religious processions and neighborhood traditions are accompanied by cultural activity, but the exact calendar changes each year.

The city's long-running spring fair follows the Easter period. The 156th edition took place April 5–12, 2026 and the municipality reported more than 255,000 cumulative visits across its eight days.

San Cristóbal has a long local tradition of sweets associated with Corpus Christi. The municipal government again held its Expo de Dulces Tradicionales in 2026.

The national dates are September 15–16, but concerts, civic events, security arrangements and street programming are announced locally each year.

Festival Internacional Cervantino Barroco

This multidisciplinary cultural festival has been held in San Cristóbal since 2002. The official Sistema de Información Cultural lists the 24th edition for October 9–11, 2026.

The core commemoration is November 1–2. The Municipal Cemetery is an important focus, while the city's cultural program changes from year to year.

What about other festivals?

San Cristóbal also hosts newer or variable cultural programs. For example, Vive San Cris held its second edition from March 31 to April 4, 2026. A new event is not automatically an annual tradition, so SanCrisGo only treats recurring programs as established once the evidence supports that.
