Annual calendar
- March 31: San Cristóbal foundation anniversary. The city was founded as Villa Real de Chiapa on March 31, 1528. In 2026 the 498th-anniversary program included the second edition of Vive San Cris, the municipal Llamado de las Campanas and cultural activities around the center. The anniversary date is stable; the festival program can change each year.

- July 25: San Cristóbal Mártir, patron saint of the city, centered on Iglesia de San Cristóbalito on Cerro de San Cristóbal. The municipal visitor page describes the hill on July 25 as filled with fireworks, music, food, visitors and worshippers. A related traditional Día del Chofer celebration in honor of San Cristóbal Mártir also produces substantial vehicle movement and special traffic management around the preceding days.
